  2. Microsoft 365 management

Our specialty

Microsoft 365, managed properly.

Most small businesses run on a tenant that was set up in a hurry and never looked at again. We audit it, secure it, trim the licence bill — and keep it that way, for one predictable monthly fee.

Sound familiar?

Signs your tenant needs attention

None of these mean anyone did anything wrong. They mean Microsoft 365 was set up once and nobody's job is to look after it.

Ex-staff can still log in

People who left months ago still have live accounts, email access, and shared files — because offboarding was never anyone's job.

The licence bill just grows

Nobody is quite sure what the monthly Microsoft invoice covers, and cancelling a seat feels risky — so nobody ever does.

MFA is "on the list"

Multi-factor authentication is half rolled out, someone important is exempt, and one phished password is all it would take.

Files live everywhere

OneDrive, SharePoint, desktops, a USB drive in a drawer — and if you asked "is it backed up?", nobody could answer with a straight face.

What's included

What "managed" actually means

Not a dashboard you'll never open. A standing arrangement where your tenant is set up cleanly, watched, and kept that way.

Security switched on

MFA for every account, modern authentication enforced, admin access locked down, and risky sign-ins watched — the settings Microsoft leaves off by default.

Backups that get tested

Independent backup of email, OneDrive and SharePoint — with restores actually tested, because an untested backup is a hope, not a plan.

Guide: what Microsoft actually keeps →

Email that inboxes trust

SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured correctly so your invoices land in inboxes, not spam folders — and scammers can't send email as you.

Guide: why emails go to junk →

Sharing that makes sense

Permissions organised so people can find what they need and outsiders can't — no more "anyone with the link can edit".

Staff on and off, cleanly

New starters get a working account, email and files on day one. Leavers are offboarded the same day — access closed, mail and files preserved.

How it works

From "not sure what we have" to handled

  1. 01

    Audit

We look over your tenant — security, licences, backups, sharing — and give you a plain-English report of what's fine and what isn't. Free, no obligation.

  2. 02

    Tidy up

Urgent risks fixed first: MFA on, old accounts closed, backups running. Then the slower cleanup — licences, permissions, documentation.

  3. 03

    Stay managed

Your tenant is monitored and maintained on a retainer, and when something breaks or someone new starts, you call one number. Two simple ways to engage.

FAQ

Fair questions

Doesn't Microsoft already back up our data?

Not the way most people assume. Microsoft keeps the service running and holds deleted items for a limited window, but that's retention, not backup. If a file is overwritten, a mailbox is wiped by a departing staff member, or ransomware encrypts your OneDrive, retention windows run out. We set up an independent backup of your email and files — and actually test that restores work. What Microsoft keeps, and for how long.

Can you take over a tenant someone else set up?

Yes — that's the most common way businesses come to us. We start with an audit of what's there, document everything, fix the urgent problems first, and then keep it managed. You don't need to know what state it's in; finding out is our job.

We're not on Microsoft 365 yet — can you move us?

Yes. We migrate businesses from Google Workspace, old mail servers, and ISP mailboxes onto Microsoft 365. Migrations are quoted as a fixed project up front, and email keeps flowing during the switch.

What size business is this for?

Tidewire is built for Australian teams of roughly one to twenty people — big enough that IT problems cost real money, small enough that a full-time IT department makes no sense.

Want to know what state your tenant is in?

The audit is free, the report is plain English, and there's zero obligation to do anything with it.
